ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Hello, my name is Lori Boccia RDMS, RT(M), CIMI, CIMT and I am a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI) and Teacher (CIMT). In 2007, I was praying that God would guide me to a new career that involved animals or babies. I have always loved being around babies and have been babysitting since I was about ten years old. A short while later, I was watching Bring Home Baby, and I saw Tina Allen LMT, CPMMT, CPMT, CIMT on the floor massaging a doll next to a family with an infant. I immediately knew this was what I wanted to do! I found her website and got in touch with her. A few weeks later, I was in Texas training to become a CIMI. I believed that only God could line things up like that! I became certified through the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) and then through Tina's own company LiddleKidz.

I volunteer my skills locally to several non-profit organizations for families who wouldn't otherwise be able to learn infant massage. I love being able to help families to create a bond with their child that will last a lifetime!

I have over ten years of experience with nurturing touch with adults as an ultrasound and mammography technologist. During these exams, I enjoyed talking with and helping patients. My patients frequently complimented that I was gentle and caring. I also had the wonderful opportunity to show expecting parents their babies for the very first time in the womb. Now, I teach parents how to enhance their new relationship with their infants through nurturing touch.

I am also a lifelong animal lover and I am especially fond of cats. My Grandmother wrote a poem about me when I was 13 years old about how I try to save all the animals in the world, which is still true to this day. I have pulled my car over countless times to help just about any animal in need. I have fostered and found homes for a number of cats over the years. I never went looking for a cat because they always seem to show up at my doorstep! I am currently "owned" by three beautiful cats. I am fulfilling one of my dreams by volunteering as the Fundraising Director for a local non-profit organiation called Purrfect Companions Cat Rescue in Poughquag, NY 12570. Another passion of mine is my wonderful husband, Mike. We reside in Hyde Park, New York. Our home centers around and caters to our three kitties, and we are looking forward to expanding our family with a baby in the near future!
